Volunteer at OTE

Our PTO is powered by volunteers. Whether you have one hour to give or want to be more involved throughout the year, there is a place for you at Overland Trail Elementary. Every event, celebration, grant, and program we offer is made possible because parents and caregivers step in to help.

Join us for OTE Cultural Night on Friday, April 17th, and celebrate the rich diversity of our community! This family-friendly event will be an evening filled with music, dance, art, and traditions from around the world. Stroll through colorful cultural displays, savor delicious foods, and enjoy captivating performances that bring global cultures to life. OTE students will even get their own "passport" to explore the event, collecting stamps and learning something new at each table. There will be a prize for students who collect all the stamps in their "passport." Don’t miss this unforgettable celebration of culture, connection, and community—it’s going to be an amazing night!

Volunteer as a Committee Member

Committees are the heart of what we do. When you join a committee, you support a specific program such as Book Fair, Carnival, Cultural Night, Community Service, Staff Appreciation, or Fifth Grade Celebration.

  • Help plan and execute events
  • Share ideas and collaborate with other parents
  • Support behind-the-scenes coordination
  • Typically a seasonal or school-year commitment

This is a great fit if you want to be involved more than once, but not in a leadership role.

Serve as a Committee Co-Chair

Committee Co-Chairs work together to lead a specific PTO committee.

  • Organize planning meetings
  • Coordinate volunteers
  • Communicate timelines and details
  • Partner with a PTO Board liaison

Most committees have two co-chairs who share responsibilities. It’s a collaborative and well-supported role.

Join the PTO Board

The PTO Board helps guide the overall direction of our organization and ensures our programs run smoothly.

  • Attend monthly board meetings
  • Support committees and major initiatives
  • Participate in budget planning and oversight
  • Collaborate with school administration

Board service is a meaningful way to support the school at a broader level while working alongside a team of dedicated parents.
